Soft Gel Service (Soak Off)

You will need QD Base, Clear JimmyGel, and BlinkTips™.

  1.  Using LEpro Cleanser and LEpro Cleansing Wipes, cleanse the natural nails thoroughly.
  •  Push back nail folds with LEpro Cuticle Pusher and remove cuticle tissue from the nail plate.  Cuticle detailing can also be done using the LE Zippy eFile and Z-Bits.
  •  Prep the natural nails with a very light touch, using a 100/180 Grit Lexy File or LE Perfect File; cleanse using LEpro Cleanser and Lint Free Wipes, and remove all dust and debris from the nails.
  • Pre-measure and make any adjustments to fit the BlinkTips™ to the natural nails.
  •  Cleanse nails again and Apply QD Base to the natural nails in a thin, even layer. Cap the free edge, and cure for 60 seconds in the LEDdot lamp or two minutes in a UV Lamp.
  •  Flip the BlinkTip™ over and apply Tack sparingly in the area that will be in contact with the QD Base layer applied to the natural nail plate.  Do not cure. Repeat this step with the remaining nine tips and then cure all 10 tips for 60 seconds in the LEDdot lamp or two minutes in a UV Lamp.
  •  Apply a thin, even coat of Clear JimmyGel to the nail. Cap the free edge. It is important you do not apply too much gel or risk overflowing on all sides as the BlinkTip™   is applied.
  • Place the base of the BlinkTip™  near the cuticle area* of the nail plate and gently rock it down onto the nail*, allowing the JimmyGel to slowly press forward toward the free edge of the natural nail.

*Key Points:

  1. Do not apply too much pressure, as this can cause the JimmyGel to press out from under the tip.
  2. By rocking the tip on from the cuticle to the free edge, any excess gel should be squeezed out right at the free edge. You do not want excess gel. This would be an indicator you applied too much.
  •  While holding the tip in place, flash cure using a FlashDot™ curing lamp for 10 seconds.
  1. Continue applying the full cover tips to one hand, flash-curing each nail.  Once all five tips are secured, cure the nails for 60 seconds in an LEDdot curing lamp or two minutes in a UV lamp. Repeat tip application steps on the second hand.

Once all tips are applied and fully cured in the LEDdot curing lamp:

  1.  Apply Tack over the top of the tips, and cure for 60 seconds in the LEDdot lamp or two minutes in a UV Lamp.
  1. OPTIONAL: For added strength, apply a thin coat of JimmyGel from the cuticle to the free edge of each nail and cure for 60 seconds in the LEDdot lamp or two minutes in a UV Lamp.

The BlinkTips™ are now ready for decoration. Have Fun!

  1. Using LEpro Cleanser and LEpro Cleansing Wipes, cleanse the natural nails thoroughly.
  • Push back the keratinized proximal nail fold with LEpro Cuticle Pusher and remove cuticle tissue from the nail.  Cuticle detailing can also be done using the LE Zippy eFile and Z-Bits.
  • Prep the natural nails with a very light touch, using a 100/180 Grit Lexy File or LE Perfect File; cleanse using LEpro Cleanser and Lint Free Wipes, and remove all dust and debris from the nails.
  • Pre-measure and make any adjustments to fit the BlinkTips™ to the natural nails.
  • Cleanse nails again using LEpro Cleanser and LEpro Cleansing Wipes.
  • Apply Tack sparingly to the natural nails, scrubbing it into the nail surface. The prep marks should still be visible. Cure 60 seconds in the LEDdot curing lamp or two minutes in a UV Lamp.

Removal: Wrap and Soak Method (for QD Base and JimmyGel application)

  1. Using your favorite LEpro nail file Or Zippy and Z-Bit, shorten the nails and remove any gel top coat, color and decoration from the nails of one hand.  Be sure and file completely through the top coat and into the color.  You should see a bit of color on your file as a result of this process.
  • Saturate a cotton ball with Acetone, place it on the nail, and wrap it with foil, repeating on each nail of the first hand. 
  • Repeat Step 1 and Step 2 on the second hand.
  • After 7-10 minutes, check the status of product removal, beginning with the first nail wrapped.  The product will be softened and easily removed.  If any product remains, ensure there is enough Acetone on the cotton ball and re-wrap the nail.  Repeat on each nail until the product is fully removed.
  • Shape and smooth the free edge of each nail with the Lexy 220 grit file, and use the LE Foamie to smooth the nail surface gently.
  • Massage 1 drop of LEpro Cuticle Oil into each cuticle.

Maintenance: Fill and Rebalance

If desired, regrowth can be prepped and then filled using Tack & Gel.

  1. Using LEpro Cleanser and a LEpro Cleansing Wipe, clean each of the nails using a

circular scrubbing motion to fully remove oil, residue, and debris from the nail surface.

  • Using the LE Zippy E-File and the Shaper Z-Bit or Perfect nail file 100 grit side, shorten all ten nails (if desired).
  • Using the Speedy or Perfect nail file 180 grit side, remove previous decoration gels. If the arch location needs to be rebalanced, file down the old apex to prepare for the new apex.
  • Focusing on the cuticle area of all ten nails, file the product to be flush with the natural nail plate regrowth. If any lifting is present, file on the product behind the lifted area to gently remove the product and prevent accidental over-filing of the natural nail.
  • Using the LEpro Cuticle Pusher, push back the KPNF (Keratinized Proximal Nail Fold). To loosen cuticle tissue from the nail plate on each of the nails, use the pusher or the Zippy with the Cutie Patootie Z-Bit on a slow-speed setting. The blade end of the LEpro Cuticle Pusher is a great way to remove cuticle tissue from the nail plate, around the corners of the proximal nail fold, and along the lateral nail folds.
  • Using the 100-grit side of the Perfect File or the Zippy with the Cutie Patootie Z-Bit at a slow speed and with a very light touch, carefully prep the regrowth area of the natural nail plate on each nail.
  • Using LEpro Cleanser and a LEpro Cleansing Wipe, clean each of the ten nails using a circular scrubbing motion to fully remove oil, residue, and debris from the nail surface.
  • Apply Tack to regrowth area of all the nails on the first hand, and cure for 60 seconds in the LEDdot lamp or two minutes in a UV Lamp. Repeat this step on the second hand.
  • Apply a Slip Layer in your choice of JimmyGel or Lexy Extreme to the regrowth area of the nails on the first hand, pulling a very thin coat over the existing product. *Do not Cure yet*
  1. Before Curing, add a droplet of gel right at the base of the existing product on each nail to allow the surface of the gel overlay to transition seamlessly to the nail plate. The gel will self-level to a smooth application. To reposition the arch location on the Apex, add a droplet of gel and allow it to settle*.

*Key Point:

  1. If the arch self-levels too much, you can flip the nail upside down and use gravity to pool the gel into the perfect arch.
  1. Cure for cure for 60 seconds in the LEDdot lamp or two minutes in a UV Lamp while repeating on the second hand and curing.
  1. OPTIONAL: If any refining is needed to smooth the application, cleanse the nail or nails with LEpro Cleanser and a LEpro Cleansing Wipe. Filing to refine the nails can be done with the 180-grit side of the Perfect file or buffing with the LE Foamie.

The nails are now ready for decoration. Have Fun!
